I am completely fascinated by cultures different from my own, to me its what makes the world such a beautiful place. This editorial propels me to pack my bags and get on a plane, unfortunately its never that easy.. at least I have these to lose myself in!
SATURDAY INSPIRATION! FLOWERS NOT IN YOUR HAIR!
When I was getting dressed yesterday I just seemed to grow frustrated in my lack of belt choices. Belts and I are a new thing, I was never really fond of them and its only in the last year or two that I've added them to my arsenal of accessories. But when I was tearing my closet apart trying to find anything to make my dark blue dress pop, these images kept popping into my mind.
Lara Stone with flowers jumping off her waist is quite inspiring. The best thing about this is that I can finally have my garden and no real plants would get hurt in the process. The downside is that I will most likely have to venture into a craft store. To tell you the truth a craft store is like a glass sculpture gallery, there's a lot of fragile things and I would most likely break something than do anything else. Yet, these images are pushing me to take the risk and challenge myself.

Color is definitely on the top of my list for Spring, in fact I am channeling Spring by wearing my torquise dress today. But there's one thing I can't deny the Black Little Dress is always in Style, it doesnt matter what season it is.
The Black dress can go from flirty fun, to sexy sophisticated just with a twist of the design, not many colors can do that. So even though colors are labeled as the new black...Black will always be THE black!
Also how amazing are these bowdacious shoes! I would wear these everyday and have people throw their coats over puddles so these babies wouldnt get hurt... seriously!

TREND: DON'T KNOCK IT TILL YOU TRY IT - HEELS &SOCKS...
What trend is once again trying to make its case for being too cool not to try? Back in 2008 Jessica Stam appeared on the pages of Vogue UK with heels and socks. Once again the trend shows up on the feet of Miranda Kerr in an editorial spread for Vogue Russia.
My heels were sitting pretty in my closet while my boots have been getting a work out everyday. So with the images of these editorials I put on my striped socks and by passed my boots.
I must confess I didn't do it with a dress, I wore my safety jeans (you know the ones that look good with everything, even a paper bag) and when I put on my heels I didn't laugh.
I actually liked it.
What??
The silly trend that I laughed at and said I would never try.. well it got me!
Moral to the story: Never Say Never and don't knock a trend until you try it!
The first time around I noticed it, I shook my head at its silliness and then turned the page. Sure socks are logical, I walk most of my life in heels, but together.. well my attitude was more like oh fashion trends you slay me. I mostly wrote it off as one of those trends that I would never try.

How to spot a Cubic Zirconia...
Cubic zirconia, or CZ, is known as the best substitute for real diamonds. It possesses almost all diamond like qualities and is hard to distinguish from a real diamond by the naked eye. So stunning and brilliant is the appearance of a fine cut CZ that it can even put a real diamond to shame, and conmen around the world have been known to use this to their advantage. However, there are certain characteristic features of CZ and some effective ways of confidently establishing the identity of a CZ.
1)A Cubic Zirconia appears no different from a real diamond and the difference is very hard to tell for the naked eye. Use a magnifying glass to closely examine. Upon close inspection, one can see that the brilliance and luster of CZ are slightly less than a real diamond.
2)The surface should be carefully and closely examined under a lens to look for signs of corrosion, damage or scratches. Surfaces and facets of CZ are likely to suffer damage due to wear and tear, whereas it is rare in diamonds.
3)Compare the weights of a CZ crystal with a real diamond of exactly the same size and specifications. CZ weighs more than real diamonds when similar volumes are weighed.
4)CZ is manufactured artificially and hence is made free from flaws and has perfect symmetrical cuts, facets and glimmering polish. A real diamond upon close examination reveals that it is not as perfect and is likely to have impurities and flaws as it is naturally occurring and not manufactured by man. Precise cuts like CZ cannot be made upon a diamond and it also lacks the precise symmetry of a CZ.
5)Hold a CZ and a diamond against light. A real diamond will show uneven coloration and is not totally transparent. Impurities and flaws create translucent spots in the body of a diamond. Contrary to this, a CZ is perfectly transparent, mostly colorless, evenly colored and in exotic shades incase of colored CZ and never contains any impurities or blind spots. Also, real diamonds are opaque to x-rays whereas CZ acts just like normal glass.
6)A diamond is the hardest known substance to man. A diamond can withstand tremendous physical pressure and shock, whereas a CZ is likely to turn to powder after a single strike of a hammer.
With these checks, anyone can distinguish between a Cubic Zirconia and a real diamond.
